Work experiance in a Primary school.

In sixth form I was placed in my local primary school for a week in order to complete my work experience. I was placed in a year 4 class and during the time spent in this placement I gained valuable first-hand experience of how to work and teach in a classroom. What shocked me most was how much the school and teaching methods had changed since I had attended the school. Interactive white boards were in every room and at the time I was in primary education these were literally unheard of. The methods of teaching seemed to have become more interactive, with less use of traditional work books and worksheets and more emphasis on the class’s interaction with the interactive white board. The use of computers had also grown too with the school now having an entire I.T suite which contained around 20 computers compared to the 2 or 3 computers per class when I attended. I really enjoyed my placement in the school and it was a partial factor in me applying to study education at Swansea Metropolitan.
